About Actbackground Plumbing and How Referrals Work

A Referral Service, Plainly Put
Actbackground Plumbing is a referral service for homeowners in Louisville/Jefferson County metro government and the Louisville/Jefferson County metro government area. It helps people reach independent local providers for emergency plumbing, drain clearing and sewer repair. Actbackground Plumbing is not a plumbing company, and the repairs are done by the providers in our network, not by Actbackground Plumbing.
Why This Site Exists
A plumbing problem makes people rush. Rushed choices lead to costly mistakes: vague prices, patch jobs, repairs that fail a year later.
Homes in this region are often colonials, split-levels and older rowhouses. Many have basements and aging cast-iron or galvanized pipe. A poor repair in a house like that can show up again at inspection time when you sell. This site exists to slow the bad decisions down. Protect the house first.
How Matching Works
You describe the problem and request an estimate. You can also Request a callback to check provider availability. Your request goes to an independent provider in our network that serves your area and handles that type of work.
Many providers can respond quickly, but timing depends on the provider, the weather and the day. No arrival time can be promised.
What We Expect From Providers
Providers in our network are asked to:
- Hold the licenses and insurance that your state or town requires for the work
- Explain the problem in plain words
- Give a written quote before major work begins
- Pull permits when the job calls for them
- Treat the home with care
What We Do Not Do
- We do not perform repairs.
- We do not set provider prices.
- We do not promise arrival times.
- We do not promise insurance payouts. Some policies may cover sudden damage, so check your policy. Providers can often help document damage for a claim.
What Drives the Price
Cost depends on access, pipe material, depth, and how much damage is already done. As typical U.S. ranges, drain clearing often runs from about $100 to $500. Burst-pipe repairs often fall between $150 and $1,000. Sewer line repair can run from about $1,000 to $7,000 or more. Your job may differ, which is why a written quote matters. Get it in writing.
How We Are Paid
Providers in our network may pay a referral fee when they receive a request. Homeowners do not pay Actbackground Plumbing to be connected. The price of the work is set between you and the provider.
